The Scarborough Business Excellence Awards will be judged by the main sponsors who will be joined by the respective category sponsors and guest judges.

Susan Richings, Chairman, SWC Trade Frames
Susan Richings is the Chairman of SWC Trade Frames, an award-winning manufacturer of PVCu and aluminium windows, doors and conservatories, based at Eastfield. During her tenure, Susan has spearheaded a policy of sustainable, controlled growth of 50% over the past 10 years whilst retaining both gross and net margin.  This growth has only been achievable through disproportionately increased complexity and entrepreneurship within an already saturated sector, steering the skill set of a much valued workforce.
Prior to joining SWC, Susan’s diverse background encompassed nursing, healthcare research, teaching and social enterprise.
Born in Gateshead, Susan moved to Scarborough in 1988, and has three children. She is a board member of the Scarborough Business Ambassadors, a  former Chair of Members at Scalby Learning Trust and board member of the Scarborough University Technical College. She is passionate about supporting learning and personal development.

Kerry Hope, Managing Director, Castle Employment Agency
Kerry Hope is the Managing Director of Castle Employment Agency, an award-winning recruitment agency that spans the Yorkshire region. She has over 20 years of recruitment experience, with a history of successfully driving profit, developing structure and people, identifying new business opportunities and opening new offices for SME recruitment businesses. Kerry has an outstanding reputation for service delivery and has built an exceptionally strong
professional network.
An inspirational leader of people, she has managed large teams and  drives energy and motivation through leading by example.
Born and bred in Scarborough, Kerry is married with two children. She is a former trustee at Scalby Learning Trust and former governor at Seamer & Irton School, and plays an active role in York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce

Steve Bambridge, Editor, The Scarborough News

Steve Bambridge has spent 37 years in local newspaper journalism, 34 of them at The Scarborough News and its predecessor the Scarborough Evening News. He became Editor in March this year. Born in Sheffield, Steve moved to the coast to initially work at the Bridlington Free Press. He has been a people leader for over 30 years, and part of the Scarborough team that has won several major regional awards in the industry. He is married with two children.
